You sound even sillier. Accordint to Buddism enlightment is a welll defined state. People work towards it collecting good karma. And it has a minimum standard or a cut off line. You pass that line you are elightened and you can go on to Nirvana. And if not you go on in your birth death-cycle. And please dont tll me people work towards a breeze not strive to achieve a breeze.

Well, if you did go google it, then it was a foolish thing to do. Even if you didn't, asking who are the people who are enlightened was a silly thing to ask. You asked a silly question and I gave you a silly answer. It's just as good as asking how does the breeze look like. NOBODY KNOWS HOW AND WHAT A BREEZE LOOK LIKE, WE CAN ONLY FEEL THE BREEZE!!

Ask me your question about Islam!about good Karma, how do you keep track how much you have collected? How much good karma do you have?

Never ridicule or talk bad about others religion. Religion basically teach us to be good and virtuous. And when others are trying to do good, you do not encourage them instead you laugh at them, you see the point now. Due to ignorance the religious leaders start to get jealous of each other and they sabotage each other. Are they practising their religious teaching? Like what the Buddha said : Buddhism is easy for even a three year old to understand, but hard fur even a eighty year old to practise

To be devout do not mean they know the teaching of the Buddha. We call that blind faith. So are Muslims, when I ask my Muslim friends about their religion and they could not answer my question. 1) Lay people like you and me can enlighten regardless of religion or free thinker. In the Buddhist text, there are many such example.2) When one is enlighten, that person is basically a human being who will not do anything that is against the teaching of the Buddha. No more new karma but the old

The Buddha said Buddhism is meant for the wise. The fools have too much dust in their eyes and they see not. That why I know of Muslim and Christians alike who became Buddhist monk! Many more practise Buddhism in secrete.

One Christian friend ridicule me about my religion as that friend thought that Christianity is the greatest religion in the world and condemned Buddhism. That Christian friend of mine dare not do it anymore as Jesus could not even help! That friend of mine got into serious trouble, real serious!

To be enlighten is achievable only one puts in the right effort. If we cannot enlighten this life we can accumulate our good karma and carry on the next life. Just like you save your money in the bank, it is always yours. We go for it as when we are spiritually pure we suffer less as there is no more new karma but only the old

impermenantoo: If it something unachievable and no has achived it, why go after it? This enlightment thing so vague and undefined. I ask a most funamental question from devout Buddists who have spend 40 years in and around temples but no one knows the answer. Questions such as:1. Can elightment be reached by lay people or only monks can achive that?2. When one is enlighted can he control his bodily functions 100%? |
