Did it seem to anyone else that this guy is latently scooting around an idea that morality comes from religion? This whole lecture feels like it came from an underdeveloped atheist who has a problem with making genuine comparisons and letting go of trivialities.

It takes some courage to go up and put a slew of caveats to the notion of meritocracy at TED, a conference populated almost exclusively with very successful smart people who mostly did not come from wealth, and probably are very invested in the notion of the meritocracy, since it has served them so well.
