How did he reach a conclusion about the shroud? Didn't you read the book I mentioned?Think - I didn't ask you about accepting Christ, just if you read the book. The problem you will have is simple. If your conclusion is that Jesus did raise from the dead, then you have to reconcile 1st - by what power and authority, and 2nd - what exactly does the REST of the Bible have to say about life, death, and the Judgment of God. I'm not trying to convince you - just read & think.

My original reply was out of sheer boredom (and amusement in finding the letter from Einstein *my original quote), because I don't see how Christianity and leadership need to be preached hand in hand.Religion should not be included in any way shape or form in anything relating to state, military, education or corporate doctrine.Anyone who believes otherwise is no different to any 'terrorist' islamic preacher chanting kill those who don't follow Allah - still black, just on the grey scale.

Ahh but there is a difference to seeing some of the bible as moral guidelines and a collection of folk lore and preaching things like 'the coming of the end, repent or be tortured for all eternity'.Nothing wrong with the core of what the bible attempts to teach but people have taken it so far outta context... that it needs to be challenged. If your friend wouldn't conclude the shroud was authentic, how did he conclude that a man called Jesus resurrected?

This comment by the way is directed to our friend QuantumDelta, who I am sure will be more than happy to 1st read the book, 2nd do some actual research, and 3rd share his findings with the rest of us.

I would suggest that you read a book called "The Case for Christ", by Lee Strobel. You may not have the capacity to believe, but it will surely leave you unable to dismiss Christianity as a set of primitive legends, fiction, or worse - fear soaked pyschobabble. I had a friend who did a term paper on the Shroud of Turin. He set out to confirm the authenticity of the Shroud, and was unsuccessful in reaching a conclusion. However concluded that a man called Jesus did raise from the dead.

Anyone dependant on fiction is by default weak compared to people who are not dependant on false truths.Religion (and it's original fear-soaked entrapment psychobable) is a crutch, get over it.
