It makes NO SENSE to take tax deductible mortgage interest payments and convert them to non-deductible bank interest.If you believe that your home will continue to increase in value, it might be better to have an interest only mortgage so that you can have a consistent Schedule A tax writeoff. Don't do any strategies like this until you discuss it with a professional financial planner. You may wind up in a worse situations that where you began
