- Interesting point actually. I use credit cards to buy most things but have never paid a penny in interest for years and years. However, I only ever use credit card with money back so I am getting something from the card provider instead of them getting something from me.I buy something, and make a payment for that amount to my credit card immediatley from my online banking profile whilst getting the money back!

Dave is pretty good. I've listened to a lot of his stuff. I've heard him on Crown financial as well, which is a good show if you like learning how to manage your finances. I'm in the process of scaling down everything that I own and part of that is to pay off some debt so I can be debt free. I'm trying to also live like my dad who lives by the "if I don't have cash to pay for it, I don't need it' philosophy.

I have been totally debt free since 2002, but before then had a mortgage. The mortgage was not large, but it was always ticking away there, even when it was easy to meet the payments. Now I use a credit card and pay it off in full every month. It would be hard for the average person to purchase a house on a block of land without a mortgage. It would be hard for a business to run without an overdraft facility, so I would not criticize people who had such debts.

Love paying cash for things. Paying cash instead of barrowing is like having hand cuffs taken off after being on for a while. Independence and freedom. Truely the right way to do things. Later.

Like the idea of being off grid. Being like minded on important issues would be ideal. We are definetly individuals, arent we. Take care friend.

I don't really mess around with religion or the bible but "the borrower is slave to the lender" is something that I completely agree with. I try and stay away from the greenbacks as much as i can as well. One day everyone will realize that money has no value in and of itself.I dream of becoming sovereign and living a sustainable lifestyle off the grid but that's not feasible at the moment. I wish my husband felt the same way... it would be a lot easier if both of us were on the same page.

ever notice they look at you like your stupid when you pay cash for something large? I think it's funny it's like they are ready to call homeland security because you saved up the cash to buy something |
