September and October, as well, are self fulfilling prophecies. Usually, because of a slow summer, many companies post lower earnings, and it pushes the market lower. October just tends to freak everyone out, because this is the month when most every stock market crash has ever occured.

It's become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Basically, the thought is that the rally due to retail sales, due to the commercial sales during the retail - and it bleeds through into other sectors. In a bear market? I would pay attention to the middle of December - but wouldn't be surprised if the Christmas rally sort of fizzles as it did last year.

Dan, could you explaine why you would wait till Nov/Dec to invest in stocks? You mentioned in other video that sept/oct are very bad month to put money in stocks. I ckecked Danish OMX20 index, NASDAQ, S&P and some of the stocks i own, and you are totally right! But why is this happening? Not every industry can gain from xmas sales.. |
